Ford's Theatre Museum
Installing the Deringer Booth used to assasinate President Lincoln.
Return to Ford's Theatre Museum page
To facilitate maintenance of
the stand-alone case, the
Deringer is installed on a fixed
panel with removable panels
above and below.  This
necessitated a mount that
secures the artifact while
allowing the curator to remove
it in it's mount from the rod.
Neal is shown installing the
mounted pistol onto the
previously installed rod which
was fauxed to match the back
panels of the case.
